Thursday, June 15 was another long-driving day. Bryce Canyon National Park was a little more than 2 hours from Hurricane - but what a beautiful drive. After heading north on I-15 for about 20 miles, we turned off onto a scenic highway that took us through a canyon of sheer rock walls every bit as beautiful as Zion National Park. Emerging from this canyon, we traversed the Red Canyon (first 2 photos) and finally arrived at Bryce Canyon. Like GCNP, Bryce is viewed from the rim - looking down at truly unique rock formations called Hoo-Doos. There were numerous trails leading from the rim down into the canyon and winding among the hoo-doos. These trails are not for the faint of heart because while going down may be fun, coming back up to the rim is quite strenuous. The colors were amazing - but again, the pictures are better than words:
