Zion National Park - Photos

I remembered I had not yet posted photos from our visit to Zion National Park. Unlike GCNP or Bryce (stay tuned, it's coming soon), in Zion, we found ourselves looking UP at nature's sculptures rather than down. It's really hard for a few photos to do justice to this place. It was just gorgeous, rivaling Grand Canyon with it's own unique character. Towering rock walls, tall spires and temples, and lots of color like the other parks in Utah.

As we drove the scenic drive (the only road that allowed private autos) we saw these two desert big horn sheep.

This is called The Narrows - further down the canyon, the rock walls get very close together. Hikers enjoy walking through The Narrows, but have to be aware of storms up river that may cause a sudden flash flood in the canyon.

Many of the formations had names. These three were called the Court of the Patriarchs: Abraham, Isaac and Jacob.
